Contract

An order is made by adding items to your basket, confirming the delivery postcode and day, entering contact and address details, confirming you've read these terms and paying at the secure checkout. The contract starts when payment succeeds, and we send an order confirmation by email.

Check quantities, address and delivery day before paying: the order is prepared exactly from your details. After payment, the timber and delivery day are committed to your order.

Minimum order

Orders must contain at least £200.00 of goods, excluding delivery.

Price and payment

The price is the one shown on the website when you order, per piece or per bag. Delivery is a single charge per order, determined by the delivery postcode. Goods, delivery and total are shown before payment. Payment is by card through our payment provider; your card details never reach us.

Timber as a natural product

Sizes are nominal and approximate. Pieces vary in exact dimensions, grain, colour, knots and resin, and minor splits, surface checking and movement are normal characteristics, not defects. Images and drawings are illustrations.

Delivery and risk

We deliver on the booked day (a day, not a time) to your address or the nearest safe and accessible spot the vehicle can get to. Timber isn't carried through buildings, along passages or into back gardens, and nobody needs to be present. If undisclosed access problems prevent delivery, we'll contact you to agree the next step and tell you about any additional cost first.

Risk passes on delivery. Ownership passes once the goods are delivered and paid for.

Checking deliveries

Count and inspect the load on the day it arrives. Report any shortage, damage or error to info@buyfencingnortheast.co.uk the same day, with photos and the order reference.

Consumer cancellation and returns

Consumers may cancel any time until delivery, or send stocked items back within 14 days of delivery, for any reason, by emailing info@buyfencingnortheast.co.uk with the order reference.

Items must be returned within 14 days of notifying us, unused, uncut, unfixed, untreated and in resaleable condition, at your cost. Refunds cover the items, together with standard delivery where the whole order is returned, within 14 days of receiving and inspecting them. Where items are returned used, cut, fixed, treated or damaged, the refund may be reduced by up to their full value. Items specially ordered or cut to your specification can only be returned if faulty. Cancellations before delivery are refunded in full within 14 days.

Business customers

Consumer cancellation and return rights don't apply to business purchases. Contact us as early as possible about any change and we'll help where reasonably possible.

Faults

Faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods will be replaced or refunded. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Liability

We're liable for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill, but not for the use or installation of timber after delivery. Nothing limits liability that cannot legally be limited. Business customers: we're not liable for loss of profit, business or indirect loss.

Disputes and governing law

If there's a problem with an order, email us before anything else and we'll aim to sort it out. The law of England and Wales applies.
